How to throw a DIY Spa Party for tweens and teens

What girl doesn’t love an evening of pampering?! When I was tasked to plan my niece’s 14th birthday party, I knew that an at home spa party would be the perfect way for her and her friends to celebrate. So, I logged in to Pinterest and started saving all my favorite ideas for a DIY spa at home.

My niece loves bright colors and bold patterns, so Kate Spade seemed like the perfect inspiration. I wanted it to be classy and fun! The color scheme was hot pink, black and gold. I decided to bring the bold pattern into the mix with black and white stripes.

To give the girls a real spa experience, I bought them each cute hot pink bathrobes, flip flops in a fun black and white pattern and striped headbands to keep their hair back during their facials.

When all the girls arrived, they got changed and started the evening off by making their own beauty products. We had a station set up for them to make bath bombs, lip balm and sugar scrub. They had so much fun sitting around the table chatting and helping each other make their products.

Then the relaxing part of the evening began! We started out with facials. I set up each station with a mirror, mask, bowl of warm water and wash cloth. On the other side of the table was a pedicure station complete with foot baths and the products to go along with it.

Of course, no birthday party is complete without birthday cake! We ordered a little cake from a local grocery store. It turned out super cute and was so delicious! If you’re planning a party on a budget, don’t think that you have to spend a lot on a fancy cake. Check out grocery stores, Walmart, Costco or Sam’s Club. They often have some great options for a third of the price and are still so yummy!

It was the perfect spa slumber party for my niece and her besties. They all had a blast! It was so fun to plan and to watch them enjoying themselves all night.
