Mane Attraction: Must Have Hair Products

With the amount of heat I use on my hair, it’s been really important to me to use products that help protect it and keep it healthy while also making it easy to style everyday. I’ve found some holy grail hair products over the years that I just can’t live without.

The Pure Brazilian Leave-in Conditioner is a must have in my hair care routine! Seriously, I don’t how I lived before I found this product. I received a sample in an Ipsy bag and for a while it ended up in my vanity drawer with all the products I didn’t care to use. I randomly came across it before I went on my honeymoon to Thailand and decided to pack it because I planned to spend a lot of time in the pool and the ocean and I wanted something to keep my hair from getting too dried out. I also knew it was humid there and I hoped that a leave in conditioner would help control any frizz. I knew I loved this product the first time I used it. I apply it every time after I wash my hair while it’s still damp. It makes my hair silky soft and super shiney! The sample bottle I received is refillable too, so once I needed to purchase a full size, I just refilled it to use for traveling. It also lasts forever! You only need to spritz it a few times on the length of your hair then comb or brush it through.

The only hairspray I ever use is the Loreal Elnett Hairspray. I’ve been using it for a few years now and I haven’t bothered trying anything different because this one is so good! I originally heard about it from one of Jessie James Decker’s YouTube videos and she swore by it so I had to try it out for myself! I hear it’s a go to for many celebrity stylists too so you really can’t go wrong with this one! It holds my curls but doesn’t make my hair feel crunchy or sticky like some hairsprays can. I also like that it doesn’t have much of  smell so it doesn’t compete with any perfume that I may  wear.

Between blow drying, straightening and curling, I use heat on my hair every single day. That’s why my Tresemme Heat Protectant Spray is a must! It helps protect my hair from the damage hot tools can cause and leaves it with a little extra shine! If you use heat on your hair and don’t use a protectant spray, I highly recommend you start! This one is also great because it’s super affordable and can be found at any drugstore or Target.

If you haven’t started using a Wet Brush, get up, go to Target and get yourself one ASAP! Seriously, throw out whatever brush you’re using now. This brush does such a great job of detangling my hair and I feel like I have seen a lot less breakage since I started using it. And like the name implies, it even glides through my long wet mane with ease. They have a few different styles that you can pick from and whole range of cute colors and patterns. I’ve tried a couple different styles and I think they all work equally well.

I’m one of the many women that doesn’t take the time to wash my hair every single day. Who has time for that?! So for second day (or sometimes third or forth day 😬)  hair I use the Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo in either Divine Dark or Beautiful Brunette deepening on how dark my hair is colored at the moment. In the past the dry shampoos I used would make my hair look dull but the hint of color helps the product blend into my natural hair color seamlessly. It makes my hair look freshly washed and styled every time. It even gives it a little extra and much needed volume. I’ve tried other dry shampoos but I always end up coming back to this one. It’s also great to keep in your gym bag in case you need to run some errands after a workout. Just spritz it into your roots and you’re good to go!

The Invisibobble is a new find for me and I love it! It’s one of those products where you’re like “this is so simple and useful. Why did I not come up with this?” It keeps my ponytail or bun in place for hours but doesn’t give me headache from having my hair pulled back too tight. It also doesn’t rip or break my hair the way traditional hair ties tend to do. After several uses they do stretch out a little bit but apparently if you leave them sitting on your car dashboard on a hot day they shrink right back up. So I would think you can probably shrink them back with a blow dryer too. I’ll check back with you once I’ve tried either of the remedies and let you know how it goes.

Well, there you have it. These are all my must have hair products! I’m still on the hunt for a great volumizer, shampoo and conditioner so if you have any recommendations for what I should try out next, be sure to let me know in the comments!
